Surge of Migrant Families Released from Processing Centers
UPDATE (4:15p.m.): Immigrants continue to be released and sent to the McAllen bus station.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official says they are releasing more migrants because of the increase in apprehensions.
The agency says the processing centers do not have enough space for the people coming in.

MCALLEN – A surge of immigrants are leaving federal processing centers and are waiting in line to purchase bus tickets in McAllen.
More than 100 people were seen waiting in line at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
KRGV’s Angelo Vargas spoke with several people who initially were heading out of state to places such as New York and Virginia.
For now, their next stop is the Catholic Charities Respite Center.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a statement which reads in part:
"The current increase in RGV apprehensions has resulted in the limited availability of space in the RGV Central Processing Center and Stations. To mitigate risks to both officer safety and vulnerable populations under these circumstances, and due to limited bed space, CBP will begin releasing families in the RGV Sector with a Notice to Appear (NTA) / Own Recognizance (OR).”
