Shelters in Harlingen and Brownsville Providing Relief from Cold Weather

UPDATE (1/23 10 p.m.): Intake at the First Baptist Church has ended, but there are other shelters still open.

The Oznam Shelter in Brownsville at 656 North Minnesota Avenue and Harlingen's Loaves and Fishes shelter at 514 South East Street is also open.

WESLACO – The First Baptist Church Weslaco and the City of Weslaco have been activated for an emergency cold weather shelter activation for Wednesday, January 23.

All individuals requiring overnight emergency shelter due to anticipated overnight cold weather are welcome at the First Baptist Church in Weslaco.

The shelter is open to families, women and men.

Those who need overnight sheltering can go to the First Baptist Church on 600 South Kansas Street in Weslaco.

The shelter will take in people from 6:00 PM to 10:00 p.m. and will remain open until 7 a.m.
