A 21-year-old woman is speaking out after escaping from an alleged attempted kidnapping at a gas station in Donna Sunday night.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, says she wants to share her experience to prevent it from happening to others. 

"I just thought he was going to take me," the woman said. "That's what I thought."

The woman says before the man, identified as 38-year-old Roy Anthony Yanez, allegedly tried to kidnap her, he first talked to her inside the convenience store. The woman claims Yanez made inappropriate advances to her.

"He asked me two times to go with him and I told him 'No, because I have a boyfriend,'" the woman said.

The woman says he waited nearly 20 minutes for her to leave.

"When I went outside, I called my friend and told her that there was a guy being weird," the woman said.

The woman stayed on the phone with her friend as she walked back to her vehicle to pump gas. That's when the video shows the attack happened.

The woman says she recognized the alleged attacker as the man from before. 

"He laughed and he told me the same thing he told me inside, that I had a nice butt, and that's when he ended up like touching me," the woman said. "He was trying to pull me to where he came from and when I started screaming, that's when he let me go."

By sharing her experience, the woman hopes others will take preventative measures and pay attention while pumping gas alone at night.

"My mom told me that I need to get pepper spray or carry something with me," the woman said. "Right now, I just, I'd rather go with someone. If I'm going to go to the store or anything because I'm just still like scared that it's going to happen again."
