MCALLEN – An employee at a local drive thru convenience store says she no longer feels safe after an aggravated robbery.

Juan Manuel Mejia of Pharr was arrested and charged for the aggravated robbery and a warrant has been issued for Julian Andres Solis.

The employee has worked at Koko Bongo Drive Thru for almost four years; she says this is the first time anything like this has happened.

According to the police report, the two males entered the store, pointed a gun at an employee, tied her hands with zip ties and forcefully removed a gold chain from her neck.

"We can't look at the customers the same anymore because we don't know that persons intentions. It's scary,” says another one of the employees.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to Alamo police officer Jacob Garcia.

He says businesses that operate at night should have surveillance cameras as well as make sure their business is well lit.

"When it comes to your business, your safety, the safety of your employees, we tend to think that there is no limit when it comes to cost on that," says Garcia.

The owner of Koko Bongo adds the victim quit after the robbery.
