Dianté Marigny

Dianté Marigny joined the KRGV news team in September 2022. She anchors Channel 5’s evening weekend newscasts, and reports three days a week.

Dianté was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in Dallas. Before coming to The Valley, she worked in Tyler, Texas, at the NBC and FOX affiliate stations as a multimedia reporter, meaning she shot, wrote, and edited her own stories. She has covered everything from hard crime and political news to feel-good fun stories. She is known for finding creative ways to tell her stories to keep the audience engaged.

Dianté loves telling community-based stories. She goes out in the community and listens to what people are doing, issues they’re facing, and what they want to see brought to light.

She attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she majored in Broadcasting and minored in African American Studies. As an undergraduate, she wrote for her school newspaper in the Business and Life + Entertainment beats and she hosted a weekly radio show for the school’s radio station. She interned for PBS affiliate KERA, Dallas Weekly, D Magazine, and Dallas Free Press. Once she graduated, she began freelancing for the same publications as well as small businesses needing commercials for their websites and social media. Although she loves writing for magazines and newspapers, her passion is being in front of the camera and telling stories. She was a realtor for 7 years before she switched to journalism.

In her spare time, Dianté enjoys spending time with her two daughters, crocheting clothing and household items, teaching others how to learn the craft, and hanging out at the beach soaking up the sun.
