Beautification Project Set to Start at Brownsville Park
BROWNSVILLE - A triple murder in Brownsville became national news about 16 years ago.
John Allen Rubio and Angela Camacho were convicted of murdering their three children.
The site where the murders happened has now turned into a park.
The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office Crime Victim's Unit and the Brownsville Wellness Coalition have an ongoing beautification project at the park.
Together they will be planting fruit trees, herbs, and butterfly plants.
That work is expected to start at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
The park is located at the corner of Tyler Street and 8th Avenue in Brownsville.
