Road closures are currently in place in Weslaco due to "highly active bees" in the area.

The closures are near the corner of Pino Street and Plaza Street. City officials are urging residents to avoid the area until further notice.

If anyone needs to travel nearby, remain inside your vehicle and keep the windows closed. Residents living in the surrounding area are urged to bring pets indoors and avoid unnecessary outdoor activity.

Weslaco Code Enforcement and Weslaco Police Department have responded and are working to secure the area.
