The celebration continues for the state champion Weslaco softball team.

On Saturday afternoon, the Weslaco Museum held a community event for their exhibit honoring the Lady Panthers.

"Everything has just been so awesome and fun to experience and it's just amazing that we get to make memories with each other. More and more memories."

"It's amazing to see that our artifacts are all here. Little things like our writings, our gloves, our bats, everything to kind of reminisce on what happened."

Each portion of the exhibit displays a special piece of the team's state title run.

Everything they put together is obviously going to be part of history, you know?" "It's really cool, I think that it's almost like it's a made-up story so to speak. So, I think that brings so much excitement and joy."

For the team and the valley, it's just another way to celebrate the first state champion softball team in RGV history.

"We wanted to of course highlight the team's championship win because it's part of history and we're here as the keepers of history," "So we had to have an exhibit for them. We just really enjoy it because it has a lot of in depth looks at the girls, and what they were thinking, and how they were feeling."

The exhibit will be on display at the Weslaco Museum until October 26th.
