State Rep. Armando Martinez wants to make sure Rio Grande Valley communities have enough money to fix their water problems.

Martinez recently met with state agencies and local leaders in Weslaco to discuss the issue.

"I think this next session we're focusing again on water," Martinez said. "It all goes back to funding and having the right infrastructure in place. How do we appropriate that funding to where our locals will have that access in order to build out that infrastructure that's necessary?"

Martinez wants enough funding available for water reclamation projects and flood control.

The next legislative session begins Jan. 12, 2027, in Austin.
