The Rio Grande Valley Vipers acquired the returning player rights to Jermaine Samuels Jr. in a six-team trade on Monday, the team has announced.

In the deal, the Vipers dealt away the returning player rights to both Cassius Stanley and Devin Cannady as well as three G-League draft picks.

The Vipers also receive a 2025 2nd round pick in the G-League Draft in the trade.

Samuels Jr. spent last season with the Vipers. The team didn't own his G-League rights because he was on the roster as part of a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets.

Since the Rockets no longer have Samuels Jr. on such a deal, his G-League Rights reverted back to the Indiana Mad Ants.

Now, the rights transfer to the Vipers and the path is paved for Samuels Jr. to be back on the roster this November.

The 25-year-old forward averaged 19.8 points per game in 13 games for the Vipers last season.
