The McAllen Public Library is hosting a free workshop for adults with disabilities.

The library teamed up with Easter Seals, a nonprofit that advocates for people with disabilities. The workshop will cover how to request accommodations and advocate for yourself.

"This is the first time we're having an adult program, specifically for adults," McAllen Public Services Librarian Sandra Carrizales said. "This type of workshop has been requested before. In libraries, we connect people with information, and so we're making it easier for our community members to connect with community resources."

The 1-hour workshop starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. No registration is required.
