Weslaco holds annual emergency management meeting with city agencies
Weslaco held its annual emergency management stakeholders meeting, bringing together emergency managers, public safety agencies, and city crews to share resources and discuss disaster response.
Officials talked about what it takes to coordinate when a disaster hits during Tuesday’s meeting.
"So whenever we have an event like this, we all need to work together," Hidalgo County Commissioner Precinct 1 David Fuentes said. "Part of the reason we are here today is to make sure that we can all play a part in response to this and we are all available to respond to the events."
Weslaco officials also reminded leaders about the city's faith-based coalition. Several faith-based organizations recently provided shelter and transportation for those who needed a safe place during last week's flooding.
