The Texas Education Agency appointed a conservator at Monte Alto ISD, the school district announced in a Thursday social media post.

In a statement, the district said the appointment is related to an "identified error during the 2022-2023 school year,” but did not provide details of the error.

The conservator will help the district make sure data systems provide valid and reliable information on student achievement, the district said.

The conservator will also support efforts to improve educational outcomes.

“Our priority remains the success and well-being of our students,” the district said in a statement. “We are confident that, through collaboration with TEA and the continued support of our community, Monte Alto ISD will grow and provide high-quality educational opportunities for all students.”
