The Mission Police Department is investigating after a bomb threat hoax was reported at Mission Regional Medical Center, authorities confirmed.

A bomb threat was reported at the hospital Thursday shortly after 8 p.m., according to a department spokesperson.

“Everything was checked, nothing was found, protocols are still in place, investigation is ongoing, and we will hold accountable those responsible for the hoax,” police said.

Mission Regional Medical Center released the following statement:

Mission Regional Medical Center is aware of a recent situation that has been safely contained, and patient care continues uninterrupted in a stable and secure environment. Law enforcement and other appropriate public safety agencies were on site, and we appreciate their support.

The safety and well-being of our patients, employees, physicians, visitors, and everyone on our campus remains our highest priority. We are following established safety protocols and will continue working closely with the appropriate authorities.
