EDINBURG – A Rio Grande Valley sailor, who has been furloughed, is warning others to be cautious before investing in property.

He claims the apartment complex he purchased has problems.

Raylin Schannette explains it’s been a faulty construction job since the beginning; he adds he’s attempted to reach out to the construction company about the issue.

"Talked to the builder, explained to him what we found and what we suggested he completely denied it,” says Schannette.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas reached out to the owner of the company but he did not want his comments to be aired.

According to the Tile Council of North America, an interior application coverage minimum requirement to lay tile is 80 percent mortar and 95 percent coverage is needed for exterior application.
