The Brownsville Police Department is investigating a stabbing that hospitalized a 71-year-old man and his son.

The stabbing was reported Monday evening on the 100 block of Candlewick Ct. 

“Preliminary information indicates that a 71-year-old man was stabbed by his son outside their residence. Both individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment,” police said in a news release.

Galveston Road and Candlewick Ct. were blocked as officers conducted their investigation. The 71-year-old man was released from the hospital, and the suspect remains in custody pending his arraignment, police said on Tuesday morning.
