Weslaco East goalkeeper Isabel Gonzales is heading to the next level.

The Lady Wildcats star is staying in the 956, signing with Texas Southmost College soccer.

Gonzales is a two-time first team all-district selection with Weslaco East.

"It means a lot to me, when I was a freshman, I was so scared because I was thrown in varsity as I saw some girls play in the all-star, signing for college, I was like that's going to be me one day and I'm excited," Gonzales said.

Texas Southmost College has been competing in women's and men's soccer over the past three years and regularly recruits local talent for the team from across the RGV.
