LA FERIA – Water bill prices are increasing in La Feria and residents are concerned about the extra fees.
The city commission voted in favor of adding a monthly $5 emergency service fee beginning in November.
KRGV’s John Paul Barajas spoke with the city manager, Jaime Sandoval, to find out where the extra money is going.
"The city commission agreed that our first responders' department had been neglected far too long and the need to provide improvements is obvious,” he explains.
The city plans to help the police and fire departments by upgrading facilities, vehicles and hiring more first responders.
Letters were sent out last week to residents affected by these changes.
