South Texas Health Systems says mammograms help more women survive breast cancer
More than 231,000 women get diagnosed with invasive breast cancer every year.
Survival rates have gone up by more than 20 percent due in part to education about breast cancer including mammograms.
South Texas Health Systems Director of Marketing and Public Relations Tom Castaneda joined Channel 5 News' Joel Villanueva to talk about mammogram education.
STHS is offering discounted mammograms through the month of October. For more information, click here.
