MERCEDES – A single mother of four says her car has been in the shop for months.
Mercedes resident Ana Isabel Cano says she works two jobs, as an educator and as a tutor, and is also attending graduate school.
In August, she took her car for a repair at Leos General Auto Repair in Donna. She says she paid $600 up front and another $700 after being told her car needed a new motor.
"He refuses to give me my money, my car, my motor, anything. Like just flat out refuses me,” says Cano.
KRGV’s John Paul Barajas spoke with the owner, Joe Gomez, about the issue.
He says she can pick up her car but the engine isn’t in the vehicle and explains the money was paid with the previous owner, Joe Sanchez.
