As severe weather makes its way across the Rio Grande Valley Thursday, school districts announced cancellations and delays.

Below is a list of the announced school cancellations and delays. This list will be updated as more schools announce cancellations and delays.

SOUTH TEXAS COLLEGE

South Texas College is closing all campuses on Friday, March 28.

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY

UTRGV will close and cancel all classes on Friday, March 28. 

SOUTH TEXAS ISD

Class at all South Texas ISD campuses will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28. Staff will begin work at 9:45 a.m.

IDEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

In an email, IDEA Public Schools announced they are canceling all classes at all their Rio Grande Valley locations on Friday, March 28

TRIUMPH PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS

Triumph Public High Schools announced they are closing their Brownsville, McAllen and Mercedes campuses will be closed on Friday, March 28, due to severe weather conditions.

CAMERON COUNTY

BROWNSVILLE ISD

All Brownsville ISD schools and facilities will be closed on Friday, March 28.

HARLINGEN CISD

Harlingen CISD is canceling all classes for Friday, March 28.

LA FERIA ISD

All classes on Friday, March 28 have been cancelled for La Feria ISD.

SAN BENITO CISD

San Benito CISD is cancelling all classes and operations for Friday, March 28.

SANTA MARIA ISD

Classes are cancelled for Santa Maria ISD students and staff for Friday, March 28.

SANTA ROSA ISD

HIDALGO COUNTY

DONNA ISD

Donna ISD announced all classes for Friday, March 28 have been cancelled. 

EDINBURG CISD

Edinburg CISD is cancelling all classes on Friday, March 28.

HIDALGO ISD

Classes at Hidalgo ISD have been cancelled for Friday, March 28, 2025.

LA JOYA ISD

All classes for La Joya ISD have been cancelled for Friday, March 28.

MCALLEN ISD

McAllen ISD is cancelling all classes on Friday, March 28.

MISSION CISD

Mission CISD is cancelling all classes on Friday, March 28.

MERCEDES ISD

Mercedes ISD cancelled all classes for Friday, March 28.

PSJA ISD

No school for all PSJA ISD students and staff on Friday, March 28.

PROGRESO ISD

Classes at Progreso ISD have been canceled for Friday, March 28.

VALLEY VIEW ISD

WESLACO ISD

Classes have been cancelled for Friday, March 28.
