An environmental group dropped its lawsuit against SpaceX over the company’s alleged wastewater discharge at their Boca Chica launch site, federal court records show.
The lawsuit was initially filed in Oct. 2024 by SaveRGV.
The lawsuit accused SpaceX of violating the clean water act due to “recurring, unpermitted discharges of untreated industrial wastewater from the deluge system at the SpaceX Boca Chica Launch Site into waters of the United States.”
Federal court records show SaveRGV filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on Tuesday.
SaveRGV board member Jim Chapman said the reason the lawsuit was dropped was because the TCEQ granted SpaceX the wastewater discharge permit they needed. This rendered their lawsuit "moot."
