RGV Red Crowns to host Brownsville Soccer Club in regular season finale on Friday
The RGV Red Crowns cap off the regular season at home Friday evening when they host crosstown rival Brownsville Soccer Club.
These two teams played each other back in late May and ended in a 1-1 draw. The Red Crowns are currently in first place in the South Texas Conference after the home win against Capital City SC. The team was supposed to face FC Westlake last Sunday, but that game was cancelled resulting in more time to rest and prepare for Friday's match.
"I believe we all take the rest as another day to study the game as well," Red Crowns winger Vicente Alvarez said. "Rewatch the game and see how we can get better and the momentum is great. Also, the momentum from the fans as well is amazing. That's going to push us to the win I believe."
Kickoff between the Red Crowns and BTX is set for 7:30 pm on Friday at Harlingen Field.
