Power outages reported in Hidalgo, Cameron counties as severe thunderstorms move across the Valley
As of 11:16 a.m. AEP is reporting more than 20,000 power outages in Hidalgo County and as the storm moves through Cameron County more than 14,000 outages are reported.
The outages are caused by Saturday's severe weather.
Magic Valley Electric is reporting around 7,400 outages in Hidalgo County and 3,200 in Cameron County.
Anyone who spots a downed power line should stay away from it and call 911 immediately.
