A 24-year-old Pharr man was arrested on Friday after authorities said he caused a crash that killed a Corpus Christi man and two of his children.

Joshua Galvan was charged with three counts of manslaughter in connection with the crash that happened on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Nueces County jail records show bond for Galvan was set at $4.5 million.

The crash happened at around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36 when Galvan disregarded a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Randy Rubio.

The crash sent both vehicles off the roadway, and Rubio died at the scene, DPS said.

Three of Rubio's children, ages 12, 5 and 4, were in the vehicle with their father and were hospitalized in critical condition.

According to DPS, the 4-year-old child was pronounced dead the following morning, and the 12-year-old child died on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Galvan was also critically injured in the crash and was arrested after he was released from the hospital and booked into the Nueces County jail.

DPS said the 5-year-old child survived the crash and was released from the hospital.
