Omar Ochoa wins Edinburg mayoral race, unofficial election results show
Former Edinburg City Attorney Omar Ochoa appears poised to be the city’s next mayor, unofficial election results show.
Ochoa is leading with over 61% of the vote, or 7,438 votes, according to the unofficial voting results from the Hidalgo County Elections Department.
Former Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina has 3,493 votes, or 29% of the ballots cast.
All election results are unofficial until they’ve been canvassed by their governing body.
