Mercedes Tigers offensive lineman Eddie Ramirez is taking his talents to the next level, signing with Cisco College on Tuesday afternoon.

"Today is an amazing day," Ramirez said. "I'm signing today, blessed. All glory to God for giving me an opportunity to continue [showcasing] my talents."

Ramirez earned back-to-back Offensive Lineman of the Year honors in his district. He also earned an honorable mention All-State nod in his senior year and a selection to the RGV Football All-Star Game.

"The reason I chose Cisco College is because I still feel like I have a lot more to learn and more experience to gain," Ramirez added. "I feel like this is the right JUCO college to go and get my academic stuff as well."

With Ramirez anchoring the line, the Tigers rushed for more than 3,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. This past season, the team went a perfect 10-0 in the regular season, winning the district title and becoming bi-district champions in the playoffs.
