WESLACO – Diabetes is a destructive disease that affects many people in the Rio Grande Valley.

The mission of CHANNEL 5’s Heart of the Valley is to inform the community about this disease.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS is teaming up with H-E-B, Dr. Monzer Yazji, South Texas Health Systems and Wal-Mart to provide free screenings.

Several locations will be open to provide these screenings beginning Tuesday:

H-E-B (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Rio Grande City - 4031 E. Hwy 83

Mission - Conway & 9th

Edinburg - Closner & Baker

Brownville - Boca Chica Blvd.

Harlingen - Morgan & Grimes

 

South Texas Health Systems (8 a.m. – 10 a.m.)

• ER Weslaco

• 330 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco

Dr. Monzer Yazji Clinics (7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.)

• 502 S. Closner, Edinburg

• 1200 E. Savannah Ste 19, McAllen

Wal-Mart (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

• Mission - 2410 E. Expressway 83

• Port Isabel - 1401 TX-100
