BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville woman says the city is ignoring her concerns about an overgrown yard.

Myra Perez says the yard next door has gotten out of control.

"I'm afraid of snakes actually coming out back there when it rains. That's what I'm afraid of, all kinds of spiders, mosquitoes, the worst," says Perez.

Perez explains tree branches from the lot have caused issues with her fence so she called 5 ON YOUR SIDE for help.

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas reached out to the city of Brownsville about the issue.

A spokesperson tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they’ve put a notice on the property to alert any individual responsible to clean it up or else face fines.
