Hidalgo County election officials are putting out a call for help ahead of the March 2026 primary election.

The county is now accepting applications for poll workers for early voting and Election Day.

According to Hidalgo County Elections Administrator Hilda Salinas, the department needs a minimum of 100 poll workers to run the 31 polling locations for early voting. 

“It's a proactive approach to make sure that we do have a pool of poll workers that are ready to work throughout early voting as well as Election Day,” Salinas said.

This is a paid position, and those who apply will need to go through training.
