WESLACO – A state Supreme Court decision to label a Rio Grande Valley city election false was reversed and now the appellate court denied to hear the case again.

It goes back to the Mission mayoral election in 2018, where current Mayor Armando O’cana won the runoff election against Norberto Salinas.

Documents show Salinas claimed O’cana bribed voters and committed voter fraud. Through a trial, the court agreed, but through an appellate court, the decision was reversed and it was no longer considered fraud.

Salinas motioned for review of the appellate court’s decision, but on Friday, the court denied. He has 15 days to file another motion to continue reviewing.
