HARLINGEN - Cities across the Rio Grande Valley are experiencing power outages, according to AEP.

More than 5,500 residents are without power, with 72 cases reported. 

The majority of the cases are being reported in Harlingen. 

Crews are working to repair a pole leaning, which is located near Lincoln Street. 

Most of the cases are expected to be restored at 2 p.m. or after. 

Some of the cities affected include Palmview, Mission, McAllen, Edinburg, Weslaco, Donna and Mercedes.
