La Feria ISD to break ground on baseball and softball complex
La Feria ISD students will soon get to enjoy a new baseball and softball complex.
The district will break ground on the project on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The complex will be the first baseball and softball complex for the district. The district is using money rom a recently approved bond to fund the project.
La Feria ISD student athletes said they are excited that they are going to be the first ones to use the complex, which should be ready by March 2026.
Students currently take a 10-minute bus ride to the city's sports complex to practice.
Once the new complex is built, students will have two new fields for softball and baseball, and batting cages right on campus.
La Feria ISD Athletic Director Craig Foster said this will give students more time to practice.
“We have great kids here, but to have nice facilities is always a plus,” Foster said. “Not only is it going to draw more attention, but it is going to allow us to get better with fundamentals on a daily basis."
