Hidalgo Co. Commissioner Announces Free ACT Prep Courses

The courses will be available for students in the top 25% of their class, received a 22 on their ACT or 1100 on their SAT.

MCALLEN – A local commissioner wants to make sure high school juniors and seniors get into college.

On Friday, Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Commissioner Eddie Cantu announced the ACT Attack, summer sessions to prepare students for the ACT on July 13.

The free courses will be available for students in the top 25% of their class, received a 22 on their ACT or 1100 on their SAT.

The program will be taught by certified instructors.

Free transportation will be available as well as food and refreshments.

Cantu is encouraging high school students to register for these classes, which regularly costs $1,000 per student.

The prep course starts June 24 at the Boys and Girls Club on 4501 North 34th Street in McAllen.
