Fallen Soldier to Be Laid to Rest in Brownsville
BROWNSVILLE – “Funny” and “peppy” are words used to describe Pfc. Miguel A. Villalon. The 21-year-old was raised in the Rio Grande Valley; killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan over the weekend.
From 2004 to 2013, school records show Villalon attended the city of Brownsville’s school district. A flag is at half-staff at Perez Elementary where he once roamed the hallways.
Villalon attended high school in Illinois, where he became captain for his JROTC drill team. The skills acquired from that leadership led him to join the U.S. Army.
His godmother told CHANNEL 5 NEWS his body will be brought back to Brownsville, where his father lives, for the funeral services. As of now, there is no set date.
