WESLACO – As temperatures start to increase, so do snake sightings around the Rio Grande Valley.

When the weather gets warmer it’s not only mosquitoes that start to make their guest appearance.

The cold-blooded creatures become less active in the colder months, so once the temperatures increase, they’re out and about.

The increase in snakes leads to an increase in bite precautions.

The president of Reptile Rescue and Relocation says keeping your yards clean can help prevent an unwanted encounter.
