Brownsville woman, 5 Harlingen residents test positive for coronavirus

BROWNSVILLE – On Monday, Cameron County health officials confirmed six additional cases of the coronavirus. The new cases bring the total number of cases to 26.

The new cases include 5 individuals from Harlingen. Four males between the ages of 29-65 and one 52 year-old female. With the exception of a 36-year-old male who is linked to a case previously reported, they are all travel-related.

The sixth case is a community transmission case. An 18-year-old woman from Brownsville who did not report any travel outside of Cameron County or being in contact with another know case of a person infected with COVID-19.

All six patients are currently in isolation.
