18 Years of High Flying Fun at South Padre Island Kite Festival

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – If you’re heading to South Padre Island this weekend, be sure to look up at the sky.

You may find yourself in the middle of the 18^th Annual Kite Festival.

Bill Doan started the festival and he and his wife, Susie, own B&S Kites on the main drag on the island.

There was a time when Bill had to stop, but just like a good kite, you can’t keep a good man down.

The events on Friday and Saturday are free and the festival starts at 10 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m.
